crabe919 : I really like Tri-X at 3200 with microphen. I love the tones(curves). The grain is VERY acceptable. Pm me if you need samples...

yeah i love the film's gamut. Especially in those weird lighting conditions where bayern sensors + adobeRGB just can't handle those situations and color mapping looks limited and weird... but film looks much better I know it's not as accurate always but it doesn't matter :)

As always , try to nail the exposure with high ISO films. If in doubt , overexpose but do not go as far as blowing the highlights, although I would blow them in some situations. The difference in grain and color can be amazing if you expose correctly with those high iso films. My only experience with high ISO BW , is with Tri-X developed in microphen pushed to 1600 and 3200, pure magic  The grain was visible in the 3200 pics but very pleasing..

and yes provia and velvia are some amazing films... I might have some TLR fun as well ? Seagull and velvia ? :D

When I am not using my Me super + F/1.2 , I sometimes go for the Lomo Smena ( CMENA ) symbol. I love it's 43/4 lens , it's a triplet and thus produces wonderful swirly bokeh wide open , has very nice flare as well. I focus with the focus scale, I rarely put camera in front of my eye. And yes it's fun :D

Lomo Smena Symbol 43mm F/4 wide open on Fuji Superia 400 negative film

And this one with ME Super + Porst 55mm F/1.2 + Fuji Velvia 50 ( that's me )

J.Scott : Altocumulus !!! thanx !

Agnostic : Nice ! I love the 400x , on MF it should be even better !

KJon : I agree , the church tower has lovely lighting !

One more with the Pentax ME Super + DFA 50/2.8 macro + Kodak Elitechrome extra color EBX 100 slide film * I think you can see that EBX doesn't produce true blacks... that's a shame really

Some more examples with the Kodak Elitechrome extra color EBX 100 slide film with the Pentax ME Super and the DFA 50/2.8 macro . The EBX is a very nice film and does wonders where you have red ( velvia does an awesome job too but EBX is warmer ) . The only drawback with the EBX really is that the blacks are not true blacks ... Velvia has much truer blacks and because of this I am overexposing EBX just a bit otherwise I have to burn the shadows in photoshop or push the blacks. I do like the results and nothing beats a good slide to my eyes... and the only way to get these amazing colors... straight out of the camera.. Digital can't come even close with the best post-production techniques... scene-dependant of course

Pentax ME Super , Porst 55/1.2 , Fuji Velvia RVP [ Halkidiki , Greece ] scanned with K100D thus burnt highlights :P BTW shooting 1:1 magnification the velvia shows amazing detail .. and yes I prefer scanning velvia slides with my K100D rather than shooting K100D . The velvia palette can't be reproduced on digital . Sometime Ill get a coolscan..
