It can be a challenge to get enough DOF with macro since as you get closer your DOF shrinks to next to nothing. You can see that in the last photo, the paper etching is sharp but the coins aren't. If you need to get more in focus you need to take multiple images at slightly different focus points and stack them together with software. A good site for various explanations of photo related articles is here. Using Focus Stacking to Extend Depth of Field This is about focus stacking but there are lots of other articles too. A more detailed explanation can be found here Options for Focus Stacking Software - Photo Tips @ Earthbound Light
but there are lots of other tutorials if you search. Of course there is the macro forum here Macro Photography - PentaxForums.com
As for software for stacking. PS has features to do it but PSE doesn't. Software to combine them can be FREE – CombineZP: stack your images for free or EXPENSIVE Helicon or Zerene stacker. The hood will get in the way if you are getting in close and will have to be removed so you can position the lens. If light isn't hitting the lens you don't need it for really close work. Some people don't use one at all regardless of what they are shooting. As a side note focus stacking doesn't just have uses in macro photography. It can also be used in landscape photography to get extreme DOF.
