Hmm, can't see your image - just a "no longer available".
Thanks, yes, exactly why I prefer the SMC version. In all other regards the HD is as good or better.

Nice! Even the 15 can need stitching from time to time :)

Thanks - when shooting wide angle I find that going low can be a good way of creating a foreground when there is none.

A late summer sunset - obviously not a very recent image :) |

The dry western part of Madagascar has a lot of reddish rock and soil which really light up in the sunset. The Malagasy people are a friendly lot too, so just go ;)
I did wander over to the other side of the formation too. The 15 is the perfect lens to capture the rich colours brought out by the setting sun. |

Some nice rock formations in Madagascar - including yet another starburst, of course! |

Star bursts can be very nice, but it's not something you will (or at least should) go for in too many pictures. So I agree with the others - go for the better deal. (Which probably means SMC, really, since the HD hasn't been around for very long...)
Of course, I am very happy with my SMC and see no reason to replace it with an HD ;)

Here's a shot from a while back. I think it was one of my first attempts at getting a proper starburst.
As gazonk says, we have a rather drab and deary weather here these days - it has pretty much been like that for the last two months - so I spend more time looking through old stuff. That's an exercise I should do more often... IMG10943.jpg by savochephotography, on Flickr

I have both (the old Sigma, though). The 15 is the one that is always with me. The Sigma comes along only when I'm fairly certain I'll need something wider - which isn't too often. But that's me.
