Quantary is not a lens manufacturer, it is a store brand name used by Ritz Camera. Most Quantaray lenses, AFAIK, are rebadged Sigmas and possibly Tamrons.

So there's no reason you wouldn't be able to find a decent Quantaray at a good price, although sample variation may be greater than normal.

Looks like you're getting some nice shots from your 135, so who cares if "everyone says quantaray stinks"?
