Simple comparisons between the Five Star 500mm (top image) and Sigma 50-500mm.(bottom image) Unedited but cropped equally. Of course, with moving targets such as wildlife or aircraft, the comparison would be greatly different.

Just to experiment, last evening I twisted a Star D 2x teleconverter in my SMC Pentax F 100-300mm and took a few.
This one is uncropped and unedited:

Tripod mounted, remote triggered, 1/180, iso 1600. I don't think the teleconverter affects the aperture lever in the slightest and the lens was in the A position at first which means this was closed all the way at f32.

Anyway... I was trying to remember which thread a member had posted an image of their white Kx matched with a very long, 500mm Cosina, I think.

I have been playing with this wacky combination but I really want to take it out of the city lights to seek sharper images.
This combination is about 18 1/2 inches long.

K10D + Star D 2x tc + Focal 2x tc + Five Star 500mm + Kenlock tripod =
You read correctly. Two mediocre teleconverters matched with a mediocre 500mm lens produced this uncropped, mediocre image.

Just ignore the lunar dust you see in the image.
