I guess with more than 1 stop light comming in compared to the Sigma, this Pentax zoom will also be of better convenience for night photography.
But as i prefer daytime landscaping, while not needing WR for this kind of exercise, i will prefer keeping the already very good and wider Sigma.

This lens is probably intended to replace DA12-24, but also and for sure DA14/2.8 in the existent line-up.
The presence of a large filter-shred is quite interesting for landscape shooters.
The apparent compactness for this zoom offers a direct and visible size advantage for APS-C in comparison to the D-FA 15-30/2.8 FF zoom, covering roughly (still narrower) equ. FOV.
