Can I for one say that I do NOT want a touch screen on any future camera? Or if it must be touch, at least let us be able to disable it.
Apart from the power drain, and the extra CPU usage that touch requires, it seems to me to work against some of the major advantages of dedicated camera gear.... accidental screen interaction, lack of responsiveness to wet fingers, gloved fingers...
When my K7 got really, really cold, the back screen stopped working, but the simple top LCD was fine and I could still dial in settings and see changes. That is the kind of reliability I want out of a real camera. I can see the advantage of touch screens for selecting focus points, and rapid menu navigation... but they shouldn't come at the cost of more important functions.
