I feel you. The FA Ltds are marker of a specific time and place in the history of Pentax, and were designed to appeal to a different sensibility than what we have now. If Ricoh made D FA versions they might be Starlets, but never Princesses.

The 2004 D FA 100mm ƒ2.8 Macro was not WR. The WR successor didn't come out until 2009, and also features rounded aperture blades.

There is a reluctance on the part of some to go beyond ISO 100 for fear of image noise rearing its ugly head on 60 inch prints of their cat.

It would be, IMO, absolutely great, especially with an EVF (even if optional).
Paradoxically, I wouldn't buy it.
You see, I'm the worst kind of Pentaxian - I am so satisfied with my two 16MP Pentax bodies and older, middling glass, that other than a bit of transient gear lust, I have no impetus to "upgrade".
If either my K-01 or K-5 II were to meet an untimely demise, I'd simply spend $200-300 and buy another. Maybe throw in a couple hundred bucks more and get a K-3. And it's a similar situation with lenses. The "legacy" stuff is so good and so cheap (relatively) and I so much enjoy the use and aesthetics of it all... why "break up the band"?
Eh, maybe in two or three years I'll get that KP...
