The film type also affects the drying time. HP5 takes much longer than PanF. My background was reportage, so I've never let it dry overnight. Once it flattens out and feels dry I remove and cut strips. If I won't be either printing or scanning immediately I sleeve them to avoid dust; otherwise right into a contact frame for a contact sheet, or a flatbed mask for initial scan.
Over about 50 years I haven't had problems.
