I think you are correct, something else will be presented at CP+ as well. Showing something a month before an event is not Pentax style - unless we consider the 11-18 to be 11 months late :cool:
It is not likely to be another road map lens - maybe mockups of 70-200 or 85. It feels more likely to be a camera.

It's all about the lenses. And I see a lot of empty spots in the lens portfolio, many more than in the camera portfolio in Pentax land.

If you think filter size, you are missing a lens with smaller diamter for FF. Like an f/4 lens or yoou have a look at the 11-18mm. The new lens has a filter thread that should meet the largest diameter for 100x1x0 filters. Pentax is not a system of multiple choices unless you are looking for a 35 or 50 mm lens :)
Obviously you would have to live with a 17-xx mm lens. An 11-18 mm FF lens from Pentax would have been too much. Pentax users are desperate to see how to use new glass, Pentax even advertises this option. We will take almost any lens out of your hand Pentax... take my money... but 11-18 APSC is not really for FF and the 2/35 is neitehr the roadmap large apeture wide angle prime nor the 85.

How can Pentax release a 35mm lens on the 31st of January. It should have been released May, 35th.

In order to make a story out of it, add a revamped 20 to the 35. A droplet in this direction and in the other direction is difficult to grasp.

Looks ok and will do the job for sure. Another 35mm for Pentax. Could be interesting, but was not long awaiting or missing. More specs will be available soon.
If this is the large aperture wide angle lens from the roadmap - marked in * color btw. - it probably does not meet all our expectations.

2/35 would be appreciated, still waiting for 1.4/85.
f/2 is sufficient here for me and less questions asked about Sigma Art competition... smaller footprint... thatīs what Pentax was known for in APS-C land, compact high quality primes.
Pentax told us that f/1.4 would be the future for 50/85. f/2 primes and f/4 zooms (70-200) could be seen as a change of perspective towards affordable and easier to design glass. Well, only the 50mm lens exists so far, so letīs wait a couple days and see what happens.
I would buy a fast 35 and a (very) fast 85.
If a 35mm lens materialises with f/2 or higher, it need to be D-FA* rated, has to have new focus drive and weather sealing and it will compete with 31 ltd. This lens cannot be a simple replacement for FA/DA 35.
