The roadmap is quite accurate for its publication date.
We should not demand request updates, but obviously updates would help or presentation of new lenses. The roadmap is there to keep the customers happy and informed. Without it, could would lose their faith. Life is good and the roadmap promises an even brighter future.

What’s left for cp+ 2020?
The 70-210 is out. Will we get a preview of Knew and/or a 1.4/85? Anything else?

Page 59, the DFA 4/70-200 has 71 and will get a lens soon. Come on guys, cover more space to get the 85.
15-30, 24-70, 70-200 all with f/2.8
28-105, 70-200 with a stop or so slower
150-450 fits all
50 with f/1.4
35 with f/2
31, 43, 77 with just below f/2
50M, 100M
85 with f1.4 fill a gap and combines with the 50 as well as the updated 35. Drop 35 next for something nicer or go below 35. Life is getting less foggy, but life is slow...

Pentax used gear pricing is just wrong. 15 year old used stuff for high prices due to lack of availability. Get a 5 year old Canon or Nikon lens for the same price in perfect condition rather than a 15 yea4 old Pentax lens in fair condition. Only Leica is similar on the used market.
Today you need a customer base to afford modern prices. Pentax makes good gear for a good price, a 4/200M would not sell in numbers - probably never did, so we have insane pricing in the used market.
Problem is if you want anything special from Pentax, you need to wait for new releases or go for overpriced used gear.
Back to topic, the dfa 85 would fill a large gap and there are several other gaps to fill. Pentax users are not asking to replace 15 year long discontinued glass, they want/need new first offerings. It is actually cool that Pentax survived on limited lens support for such a long time and that most of us are willing to wait for the next steps.

...DFA 85... would be the FF sign of life.
The new APSC body could be a sign of life for APSC - I say could, because we have no clue about what is really new in this camera. If the concept is appealing and pairs nicely with 150-450, it would help FF users on the long end.

Anniversary day is in November. Enough time to check out the Canon offering in more detail. New 85 design, small footprint and shake reduction. All that used to be Pentax features. Nikon opted for a new 105, the 85s are not that tempting. I don’t care about Sigma or cameras without mirror. It’s a small world and Pentax could play a role. But that is just my perspective.

For something that was developed, the wait is quite long - with nothing else of similar caliber presented for FF in the meantime.
Pentax: This lens was developed as a "new-generation star lens", which drastically reviewed internal standards in order to respond to future camera performance improvements
What went wrong? Was it developed or not? Bad marketing wording?

Ceterum censeo, it would be nice for the f/1.4 85 to arrive.

82 mm Diameter is the limit for 100x100 filters.

Yep, you are right. They made me buy the new 50 and a 77 and I originally wanted the 85. I will buy the 85 as well and Pentax earns triple happiness. Kudos to the marketing team.
That's high end market research. Customer wants one lens and buys three.

Announcing the 85 after two years of postponement is funny Good to see it is on the way.
KP has space for EVF in prism box - that would really be big news.
There is a flash button on the prism… Maybe, Maybe not.
