Beautiful sports car. I remember them when they first came out. These little fastback Triumphs reminded me of Jaguar XKE coupe, in that they were of English manufacture, a fastback coupe with an inline 6 cylinder. They were a lot cheaper to buy than a new Jag. :D
I was in high school at their introduction and there was a Triumph dealer in my city. A buddy and I went to check them out after class and I really liked the looks of them. I'm a fairly large individual... about 6' 3" + and around 240 lbs. Then I was about the same height but not the same weight. I recall trying to get into the driver's seat, but try as I might I just couldn't fit. :D That has been the story of my life and one of the reasons I've usually bought large American sedans...as I fit comfortably in them.
