1, 3, 7 & 8 are my fave's here Norm. What is really interesting is how well the DA zoom does with that 1.4x, as long as you can give it enough light it really is surprisingly good, even up against the venerable Tamron. The Tammy kicks its butt in Bokeh, but hey, it's still punching way above its weight.
Nice set.

That's a neat shot, dont usually see too many sand hills in flight shots, mostly just foraging around on foot.

Great catch! Looks like the fish was speared by the beak, then relieved himself? That was nice of him, so the GBH didn't have to eat that...heh.
Suddenly for some inexplicable reason I'm reminded of The Ameglian Major Cow from The Restaurant at the End of the Universe :D

Got to be a border collie? A real beauty! Up north they were one of my faves... well, most working dogs were my faves, but BC's are just so smart, you can see it in its eyes here.

I like them all, and this one also, the person in the shot adds a sense of scale to the rocks.

OK, I have what may seem like a really dumb question... the DCR-250 comes with an adapter for 52-67mm, but the lens looks like it is native 49mm, so, how do you have it mounted? without the adapter, right onto the filter ring? How does this effect the use of the stock hood?
Thanks a bunch in advance for your reply,
Eric

Man, those look great! Also worth noting that Raynox is really working well for you! I had been considering the Canon 500D close up lens because it is known to be so well made, but your work is convincing me there are other options.

No argument here on that point, I was just trying to make peace.
I was trying to say, some of us are a little OCD about certain things, some are OCD about other entirely different things, which is all fine and good until we forget our manners.
At any rate, I do look forward to more posts from you and your Tamron 70-200, and thanks to you I might even have to get my Tamron out soon for an outing. :D

Don't let people dissuade you sharing, there are far more of us that aren't as vocal, but still enjoy seeing work like yours and don't want to pick it apart. You just have to understand, people that are drawn to photography are usually very visual, and a bit OCD. :o So please keep that in mind and bear with us as we sort ourselves out. ;)
I also own that lens, and they are truly a giant killer, sharpness wise. Many shoot-out reviews had it right up there with the Nikon 70-200, saying it only lacked VR, which isn't an issue with Pentax and IBIS.
My Tamron 70-200 F2.8 only took a back seat to my DA*300mm once I got my K-1 because of the added reach needed for Full Frame and had zero to do with lack of sharpness.
I can well imagine that even shooting through a window and cropped down, that there was plenty of detail to start with.
Keep on Keep'in on! :)

I dunno, I think you are too hard on yourself. You managed to do some amazing work, and deserve all the credit you get. You could also try making the common and mundane into interesting art by finding different ways to photograph them, if you need to find a new way to challenge yourself. How about BMIF's? (Bug Macro's In Flight) ;) I've tried my hand at this, and it is like golf, the hole in one is elusive and will keep you going.
Hang in there!

Wow, I looked at the large image on smugmug and that is a really clean looking image.
Did you have to do much NR in post? If you did, it sure retained a lot of detail, I'd be curious what software you used.
Well done.

I really like the first pic Vincent, each archway is a vignette unto itself and would stand as a pic on their own. I especially like the silhouette of the 3 period actors. Well caught. Looks like you got a bit of a rain out, but made the best of it.
