This is super sharp with really nice rendering, and amazing for handheld.
Don't tell Frederic, but it almost makes me want to cheat on my Soligor 20mm F2.8 CD Auto lens... :lol:

I know how you feel... but you had good instincts, so I like what you did with the last two pictures. You've got plenty of nice, diffused light, but no colorful landscape to play with. Hence, B&W was a great answer to the blah day riddle.
Congrats on having the drive to go shoot something at times like these. That is 99% of the battle right there! Well done! :cool:
PS: I noticed the last shot is F16, so did you manually blur the edges? I liked the tunnel vision effect well enough, am just curious.

You captured her spirit quite well. The technicalities are overrated, and these are just fine. What a little charmer.
Did she chimp the back of the camera after she hit the shutter? I love it when kids do that... and ask, where's the screen?

I've had that happen... Not sure if you are comfortable trying this, but my solution was to loosen the rear screws holding the lens mount on your 400mm a very small amount, maybe 3/4 or a full turn (DO NOT REMOVE unless you like chasing and re-installing tiny parts that go boing!) and work the aperture lever gently a few times, then slowly re-tighten all screws a fraction of a turn at a time in a criss cross torque pattern like when you replace a head gasket on your car. Hopefully it will re-align itself like mine did and gets rid of the bind. YMMV, heh. Let us know how it goes if you attempt it!

I always meant to ask you Frederic, do you use any kind of hood with the Soligor 20mm? I usually am lazy and just shade with my free hand, heh.

Your picture is very nicely done, as others have said and I agree with the comments and suggestions thus far, otherwise nothing stands out being off, color or otherwise.
Welcome to the fold, posting is fun here and you will get all kinds of feedback, and sometimes you won't get any at all and wish you did. The like button makes it too easy to just hit Like and move on without comment. You won't find a nicer bunch than our group of Pentaxian's here on PF. Adam runs a tight ship and I've never witnessed any bullying or anything off (except when I give Frederic a hard time about his Moon pic's, which is a running gag started way back with Rupert, one of our sorely missed and deceased members) so relax, have fun, and post like crazy, we can always enjoy the fresh perspective new posters bring.

The Topaz version has more pop, and is a little brighter, makes the Luminar Neo shot look a little dull in comparison. TheTopaz might be a little heavy handed on the noise reduction, but I still prefer it to the Neo. What is your preference Frederic?
You gave the FA43 a nice workout, love the flower.

While I am always happy to see another Soligor pic, I find I like todays middle Soligor shot just as much as I liked it yesterday, which is still very much. :confused: ;):D
