Hello again! It has taken a while to send in my lens and get it inspected due to work/vacation etc.. But finally I sent it in to the official swedish Pentax repair shop, Kameraservice Kungsör. They came back very quickly with a conclusion that the lens seems to have suffered a hit somewhere (not by me though, but I bought it used.. could have been shipping or whatever..) and that they needed to repair it by replacing something I can only translate to "focus cogwheel" (probably a lousy translation..) For you swedes here: "fokuskamring"
Got it back yesterday and took a few pictures and I am very happy to say that the problem is gone!
Only bad thing is that the repairs cost me 1900SEK=220USD but still cheaper than buying a new lens. Now I know it I have great lens in perfect shape! The service from Kameraservice was excellent!
Thanks to all who helped out!

Thanks to all who replied to my question! I tried lots of your suggestions but neither worked unfortunately, so I sent in some pictures to Pentax Sweden and they encouraged me to send it in for service. Good but too bad that there is no more warranty on my lens.. ;)

Hello again, I asked a while back about the softness of my lens and I retried some pictures with suggested settings. In the included photo I used f8 but even though the photo is sharp in the middle it is awfully soft towards the sides. Is this to be expected? I can't see the same behaviour in other photos in this thread.
Thanks,
Timmy

Thanks Matt! I have mostly tried it at f4 so I'll give it a try at smaller apertures. Good to know that most likely the lens is not defective at least :) ---------- Post added 2016-04-18 at 17:34 ----------
Ok thanks for the reply! Appreciate it! :)

Hi everyone,
I bought my first wide angle and bet on a used 15mm/4 since I was so impressed by the photos here!! i am very happy with my lens and it is in mint condition!
The only thing I noted was that in many pictures my photos are kind of blurry towards the edges. If I pixelpeep I can really see it and in the photo below it is pretty evident. Now, is this the way a wide angle lens work or could there be something wrong with my copy?
Centre AF point, F4, ISO1600, 1/40th, handheld
Thanks,
Timmy
