Rhino in Etosha. They are being poached for their horns and Nature Conservation are running a de-horning program to make them less attractive to poachers. It works, but is obviously time consuming, expensive and leads to stress in these animals. And, like this one, the horns grow back

The white and black does not have anything to do with their colour. The white one has a wide upper lip and has been translated into white in Arikaans. So actually a wide lipped rhino. The black one has a pointy upper lip. Or so the story goes

These African Jacanas looks quite docile and can run over the plants with their very long toes, but I was quite surprised to see how they can go at each other with hammer and tongs and beaks and wings and feet
