Technical vs. technique

I am a "technical" shooter that know all the things about exposure compensation, F stops, bla bla bla.
My wife has no clue about any of this, or cares. she is very creative and usually gets better shots then me.
I try to be less technical and more creative but it usually ends up with the same old boring shots :)
some people are just born creative I guess
