I vote for Sigma 17-70, any of the versions. If I take my pursuit of feathered critters out of the equation then 90% of my shots are in that range, I agree with the others 28 is not wide enough, 50 is not long enough, when I covered that range with 2 lens I was constantly changing lens, got tired of that pretty quickly! Although the tamron 28-75 is a great lens if it suits your needs.
