A few from today. Mixture of lenses; 150-450 for the woodpecker and one grouse, the other grouse was the 55-300, works surprisingly well on the K1. And the Tamron 28-75 for the landscape. The high iso capability of the K1 got me some shots today.

Darktable, using the dtstyle.net - a darktable styles repository from one of the developers. It gets rid of chromatic noise very well without losing detail, but leaves luminous noise, white dots. I did a drawn mask around the bird and leaves, then blurred and darkened the background.
Out of camera raw had lots of detail to work with.

A woodpecker finishing off the elderberries. This is a ridiculous iso 40000. Cropped slightly and the background blurred and darkened.

Sigma 500 f4.5. I have the 150-450 but a bit longer and bigger aperture is nice in this situation. Yes, it is a dipper.

Kokanee spawn on the Lardeau river. Last year this location had only a handful of fish, but this year the numbers are much better. And an eagle looking for a meal.

Amazing shots everyone. Sets a high bar for quality.
A few from today. I hiked up a mountain to a burnt area. Surprisingly beautiful. Had some company. Long shots with 150-450, wide shot with Tamron 28-70. I think I'll start packing my 35mm Limited for close macro. K1 II.
A small mountain creek. Lovely spot.
The alpine flowers are coming out.

The beginnings of Eagle nesting season. The male brought a fish for the female, cementing the pairing. They went off an copulated shortly afterwards. 150-450 cropped substantially. I will get closer once the nest is established. I don't want to give them any reason to consider another site right now. I hope to get to the nest twice a week over the summer.

I'll go with your personal taste. I like how the water has texture. I've done the smooth water and found it unsatisfying, and have been thinking of other approaches. A very fast shutter captures the water as is without movement on one extreme, but long shutter speed turns a noisy coarse scene into something it isn't; smooth and quiet.

That is nice. I like the texture of the water. I've been trying different shutter speeds to find what i like. You used 1/10 and i like the coarseness.
