I shoot wildlife and the limiting factor is usually light. A K3 vs K1 at >1600 iso, the advantage goes to the K1. In very good light the denser pixels had an advantage.
When I sent my K1 in for an upgrade I used the K3 and remembered the hard ceiling on iso performance.

I got shots with the K3 that I didn't with the K5 for two reasons; improved autofocus and lack of AA filter. The K1 negates the advantage.
In good light you can't go wrong with almost anything. The increased pixel density is a benefit. As conditions deteriorate the low light capabilities of the K1 gives the advantage.
My K3 sits forlorn and unused on my shelf. I dug out my K5 for the stabilized video recently. It works very well. I haven't used it for stills, but it makes for a very nice vlogging body.

And it doesn't change in afc when you hold the button down. I used my K3 during the time when my K1 was of getting upgraded and found it slow and unresponsive for that reason.

The low light capabilities of the K1 and even better with the Mark II keeps it in my hands. I have a K3, and it sits forlorn and lonely, without battery or card.
I can shoot wildlife at dusk and dawn, and the dark days of winter.
