Blimey subsea, those Concorde shots take me back. We were taken by our parents to Fairford to watch the development flights. Plonked right next to the runway for numerous full power take offs of the rather noisier than they ended up birds. Health and Safety would have had a conniption fit nowadays... Small point of order though, it's circuit and bumps. Sometimes also known as circuit bashing.

The first of a few from RIAT at Fairford, UK. The Ukranian SU27 flew a very photogenic display, probably helped by the fabled Sun turning up and that simply spiffing cammo.
We also snagged some stickers, a patch and a big mug from the crew. Which was nice.

K5 and Sigma 50-500, upgraded the lens this year to the newer version with OS and better focusing. For some reason the other half shows no sign of wanting to use the old one. Possibly because the one time she picked it up she overbalanced....

One of the Faux09's ( Hispano Buchon) based at Duxford has recently returned from filming for the upcoming film Dunkirk with her 1940 markings still applied.

Wading through the gazillion shots taken over the last weekend. The Frecce display was largely neutered by the weather with just the big formation bends and the early passes by the joker. Bit of a shame as given a good day they can really fill the sky with ickle jets.

Spent a nice couple of days lurking near RAF Fairford, despite the "changeable" weather (English summer hey ho) got some nice shots. Whilst we are back home for a pit stop, battery recharge and a curry here's a taster.
On base tomorrow so a nice 5am start beckons.

After checking that the clear blue skies weren't some kind of hallucination we popped down to Bristol Lulsgate to try out the Manfrotto 393 gimbal head. Takes some getting used to after shooting handheld for so long but didn't miss the Bigma upper body workout one bit.

Nearly didn't post anything due to the tragic events at Shoreham but here are a few from Dawlish on the same day. There was a noticeable change in demeanour of the enthusiasts on the hill as the news came in. Blue skies to all those lost and our thoughts are with you and your families.
