The K2/K2DMD must surely be in the running for the best-looking film Pentax. Lower shoulders than the Spotties and slightly bigger than the ME; lovely!

Couldn't resist posting this; you may normally see this the other way around, chrome body, black lens, but here's my lovely black ME with its anodised chrome-nose 50/f1.2. I got the 50/f1.2 pretty cheap but it was physically beaten-up although the optics were in excellent condition. After a CLA and sprinkling of fairy dust, it came good! Taken with my iPhone 8+ via LR.

Nice SLs, hepcat! The SL is IMHO the best-looking of the Spotmatic-design cameras, and one of the best-looking Pentax film cameras overall. Its clean lines with no meter switch are very attractive; my very clean chrome version currently has film in it (as does my K)!

Good job! The S is rarer than hen’s teeth, and the black S even more so.

Nice Miranda. My first ever SLR was the Soligor TM, just a different name on the prism. I exchanged it after a year for a Pentax KM.

I think it may be to do with the fact that it's a slightly different shape to the KM/KX/K1000 with a lower shoulder; almost half-way to the ME/ME Super - but solid indeed.

The black K2 (DMD or not) has to be one of the best looking Pentaxes ever made.

Well now, that’s amazing. I used to take stereo pictures on slides using the Pentax accessory back in the 80s, and re- found the stereo adapter maybe ten years ago. Having taken some digital stereo pairs, I developed the ability to stare at the screen and merge the two images into a single 3D image - and I can do that with these two SV photos! They’re clearly two different bodies (different serial numbers) but they must be placed just right, because I can merge them and see 3D images for both!

My first was the K55/f1.8, on a KM. I don’t have either any longer (although I’ve replaced both) as some swine stole them from my car around 1977.

Not a DMD though.

Yes, the K2 has hardly a mark on it - even still has the little plastic cap on the ASA ring release button. As a Pentax body design, it’s unique among the four K series cameras in not being based on the Spotty F body shell but is more compact, and kind of halfway between the K series and M series in size. What also makes it attractive to look at is the minimalism of design, for example the clean lines of the rewind crank area which is similar to the MX.

No, it wasn’t originally like that. I bought it cheap as the exterior was a little beaten up but the optics were very good. Then I had it CLA’d and re-anodised in silver with a chrome nose by the forum’s dcshooter (haven’t seen him around here lately). It’s very pretty, especially on the K2 which IMHO is one of the best looking Pentax bodies.

When I shoot film, I use one of these lovelies; AP with Tak 58mm/f2.4, K2 with refurbished SMCP 50mm/f1.2. The K2 came with the SMCP 50mm/f1.4 but this looks much prettier!
