Not really just try it.
And those hover flies often stay put for a second or 2, long enough to take a photo, would be more amazing to capture another flying insect that doesnt sit still.

I had no problem with the K10D, you need to bring the focus close manually the AF does the rest.

It can though, just behind the focus it can produce this.
So when you do landscapes you can get these few swirls in the blur but that's enough to make it just that bit of flair it needs.
DA*50-135 @135mm - f/2.8
another one at the same settings, not to show the effect though. You Tube |

That's why i use the DA*50-135 that one has a nice balance i believe.
But if i need to chose a between the Sigma 50 and DA*55 for portrait work i would go for the Sigma, the person is the most important part for such photos and more often then not with photos with the DA*55 the bokeh is very intrusive.
For other types of photography how every the DA*55 would be more interesting because of the Bokeh and the things you can do with that.
Just tried to see if i've any photos with the DA*50-135 up but i almost don't have anything...
DA*50-135
I also like what the DFA100 does. |

You find it the sigma dull and boring and others find the pentax distracting.
Be glad we aren't all the same.
The only problem i've with the DA*55 is that it was advertised as a portrait lens, the FA*85 equivalent for APS-C but the personality of the lens is so different....
