Lovely colours Designosophy! I've done that! Had the AF camera in my lap while I drove and then just poked the camera towards the sky and clicked. One of the really good things about AF in my opinion...

Thanks Pacerr. It is an adaptall, but it's a tammy adaptall. *wicked laugh* Don't think I even thought about narrowing down the clubs that far. Will go and hassle the adaptall peeps.

As to the extra adapter, yeah, I know I don't need the m42 adapter since I already have a k adapter, but it's here now.....

Ok I have a question for all you Tammy users.

I bought a m42 pentax tammy adapter and tried mounting it on both my 90mm macro tammy and my 28-70 159A tammy. They both fit, but when I try to mount the lenses onto my camera (with a genuine pentax m42-kmount adapter) it won't lock? It seems to get stuck/hit something? I haven't tried forcing it. I tried it on both my kx and my k100d and both times it wouldn't turn.

Yet when I put these lenses onto my tammy pentax adapter they lock onto the bodies with no problems (you hear the click).

What am I missing? Is it that these m42 adapters only really work with slrs and not dslrs? I'd bought the m42 adapter with the hope that I could use the tammies on both of my cameras at the same time (the k100d is half reserved for m42 lenses only with the adapter on)

Back again with the Tammy 90mm on my kx.

Better conditions means better results = happier me! Or alternatively, a little more patience and a lot more practice = better results = happier me!

ISO still relatively high, but it was a cloudy-ish day and I'd forgotten to drop the ISO down. Some noise but it doesn't really bother me in any of these shots.

Thanks again for the advice JT! :) It's good to get feedback and know you're on the right track. Photography can sometimes be a lonely past time when you don't get to share!

Thanks for the advice jewelltrail! To be fair there were lots of rejects that I trawled through before I decided on the ones I posted up :) I think for me, a lot of picture taking is about luck and how to manage that luck... I'm sure if I brushed up more on the theory I could do a heck of a lot better in ensuring more 'keepers'.

Ah yes... flash... I need to give that homemade cardboard box flash thing a go. Just need to set aside some time when I'm not busy lurking on here or trawling ebay...

My comment about the bad light was because it was getting really late, like 7.30pm or so during daylight savings in cloudy weather. *sigh* Last week every evening was sunny and hot. This week it's all miserable and grey :(

I think I ended up dropping ISO after someone mentioned on a pic I'd posted a few days back that had an ISO of 800 and created noise. I know that the kx does much better at high ISO, but the noise comment has made me a bit leery.

Hi Jewelltrail,

Thanks for the encouragement! Hrmm.. not sure how to include exif info? It shows up in 'more details' in my picasa album. *goes to check on the two you asked about*

Here is the EXIF for the second pic

And the third pic

Hopefully those linkies will work.

If I'm reading right the shutter speed for the second pic was 1/40, and the third was 1/50. It's tricky as I took these with the kx, and I'm still learning the differences between this and my k100d which doesn't show fractions...

I really do enjoy the manual focus part of photography. It reminds me that I need to be patient, and it helps me work on composing shots etc. I'm just lucky I have two very patient dogs. LOL. I tend to take pictures when I'm out on walks with them, and I'm always terrified I'll look up and they'll have wandered off. That first pic, you don't know how many shots I had with a dog foot crushing said flower, or a blur of fur instead of a flower. She was more insistent that I pay her attention than the flower.

Bit happier with the results today. Still a touch shaky and slightly OOF but heck, it's all handheld, and the light's pretty crap atm.

Ain't that the truth? :cool::lol:

Still on the lookout for a cheapskate tripod. Pretty funny on our walk last night with the pups. I had both the kx with the tammy and the k100d with the tak. Felt like a real pro trudging through the bush ... but boy did my neck hurt afterwards......:lol::lol:

Yup, just checked and you're right. The second shot was done on ISO 800. Don't know why it was on that high. Must've forgotten to adjust after some other shots the night before.

Will keep battling through until I get some results I like. Least I'm getting tack sharp portrait pics of the pups. So all's not lost and it does prove that it's user error.

ooOOOo.. lovely shots Mike!!!

To answer the other qs, no, no tripod. Still in the market for something in my cheapy price range ;)

Will have to make some time for your 'standards' test pacerr. :) Atm I'm just going out and shooting. I love the portrait use of this lens, it's the macro side I'm struggling with

Still learning the ins and outs of the 90mm macro

Not sure I'm getting the shots I want out of this lens yet. Based on what I've seen on here, it's obviously user error.

HiHi!

Just recieved my Tammy 90mm macro 52b yesterday.

Have been going to town on it. Must say I've been super impressed. Took some shots this evening and while some of the flowers looked a bit meh in the viewfinder, when I came home to check them out on Photoshop I was totally surprised!

Here is one that has been cropped:

The focus is slightly off, but it just means I'm noticing how much detail is on that leaf!! Amazing!

Here's another. I didn't really expect for the inner bits to show up at all. Obvs my technique needs a bit of work, but these pictures are showing me distinctly that it's better than me! And I'm ok with that...

I'm also loving that creamy bokeh!
