Many years ago I was bitten by a squirrel, it was injured and I suspect it panicked when it bit me. Health Canada had it tested for rabies and sent me the results. Thankfully it wasn't rabid. As the phrase goes once bitten, twice shy - I'd never do that again unless I had the appropriate protective gear.
