Well, you have to use a handheld light meter to get incident readings which are important in cinematography and studio work, so that tool anyway still does something that the camera meter doesn't.

One thing I don't see mentioned much is that EVFs are not constrained to the camera body. The K3 has an EVF in the form of the Flucard and the screen is provided by you in the form of a phone or tablet. And so we will see more of this sort of thing with wearable eyepieces, etc. And the battery life question will be of powering several different devices and I don’t think it will be a big handicap.

I put a giant LCD viewfinder thing on my K-01 (at least doubles the size of the camera), and using it on the tripod with gimbal-type head and huge (usually manual focus) telephoto lens it is pretty sweet -- all the light is blocked out and it is slightly magnified. You can easily get precise focus, and your face stabilizes it as well so you can hold it more or less like normal if off the tripod. Even though it looks ridiculous, I really like it that way. I never take it off now.
