Seeing as it was time to get rid of my 02 Hyundai Accent, I picked up a shiny, new 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS for my wife. I get her 09 Sportage which is a little more practical for me.

I thought it was pretty good. Specs made sense, the camera going to a reduced sensor when it had DA lens attached. Whoever did the photoshop on the image did a good job. I felt my wallet getting lighter as I read the article.

I think I'm almost I'm almost insulted! :)

I'm a Torontonian and a smoker. I don't use my Zippo because it's cool and hip. I use my Zippo as they always work in the cold (a butane lighter doesn't), I'm not throwing out a piece of plastic every 2 weeks and I find I don't lose them. The fact that it needs to be refilled with fluid every week and a new flint put in once every 2 months or so isn't a big deal. I put $30 worth of gas in my car every 2 weeks which IS a hassle in the winter.

I still have my grandfather's Zippo from WW2 but only use it for weddings and such.

Picked up a DA16-45/f4 for a great price thanks to a tip in the Toronto Pentaxians social group! Paid $170 for the lens, no box or manual. The lens is pristine.

The salesman is a Pentax shooter and was shocked at the price as he said he had bought his copy of the same lens using his staff discount for $275.

Careful purchasing, "brilliant" negotiating and a sharp economic downturn is what got me the boat for a fantastic price. Very rarely do I purchase anything new. Whey pay the hefty depreciation just for the sake of that new fibreglass smell.

My better half did get new. In this case she ended up with a 2009 Kia Sportage.

I was reasonably responsible. For the same money I could have bought a 645D and 1 lens.

I did the same thing. Except my mistake was buying a 30' sailboat without telling her. STILL paying for that one 5 years later.

Bought a K200D from the marketplace between Christmas and New Year's as an upgrade from my *istDL. Just went out to Toronto Island to check the tarps on my boat and do some shooting. Love my new to me K200D! A big thanks SamC! I'll be uploading to my flickr stream in the next hour or so.

Came away with a few conclusions. 1) Even if the day is warm, the Island gets REAL cold after dark when the wind picks up. 2) Dark is at 5pm! 3) I cannot shoot with my Tamron 75-300 at max extension with a shutter speed less than 1/20, f5.6, ISO1600, even with SR turned on. Just doesn't work. 4) Even my 50mm f2 is too slow for real night shots without my tripod. 5) Reaching the deck of a 30' sailboat (12' off the ground when she's on her cribbing on shore) without a ladder is an exercise in futility!
