It's nice to meet you jatrax. I think your experience is like many that happen upon this thread. Like you I made a commitment that I would read the entire thread before posting. I can't put my finger on it but there is something about the photographs that seem to create an addiction and a hunger for more.
Which lenses did you start with and what have you added to your collection since getting bit?

Very interesting bird in your first photo samper, nice shot.
Do you know what's floating on top of the water in your second photo? It sure doesn't look very inviting.

If you haven't already ordered, here is the adapter you should get: PentaxWebstore Mount Adapter K(35m m Screwmount to Bayonet)
I ordered two of the knock-off's from e-bay but ended up buying two of the genuine adapters in the end because of the poor fit of the knock-offs.
Save time and money and order the best first time ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I believe that the 12 minute or so video time limit is caused by the 4G max per video but what I run into is sensor heat warning when I record multiple videos in sequence. Sounds like the mod should take care of that, very nice.

Great pic Dalen. Have you tried much video since getting your heat transfer conversion. I'm wondering if it will help keep the sensor from heat limiting the video length.

Super Takumar 55/2.0 This little guy has a big load. I'm getting better with my focusing but I still have a ways to go.

I apologize in advance for the long post but I wanted to introduce myself.
I found this thread about a month ago and since then I've been catching up on the posts. My first SLR was a ME Super with a 1:2 SMC kit lens I bought new back in the late 70's. Added a Vivitar 28-210mm macro zoom to it and never took it off. Took loads of pictures with that kit through the year 2000 (still have it, needs a battery so I can start shooting some film again for the nostalgia).
My first digital SLR was a K-10 I bought back in 2007. Not satisfied with the kit lens, I added a EX Sigma 17-35mm, a genuine Pentax m42 adapter, a Mir-1B 37mm f/2.8 and a Industar 61L/Z macro. Took a few (thousand) pics, but like many others, life and work got in the way and I started to drift away from the hobby.
After video recording our outdoor Christmas decorations this year and being disappointed with the poor results I started looking into the options of HD video and found the K-7. Bought my K-7 this January and I've jumped back in with both feet. I got hooked on Takumars (like so many others) by being hypnotized by the beautiful photos on this thread. My first "gateway" Tak I won on fleabay almost one month ago. It's a S-M-C 50mm f/1.4. Since then I've been falling deeper and deeper into this insidious addiction. I've now added a S-M-C 135mm f/3.5, a mint Pentax m42 extension tube set, a S-M-C 28mm f/3.5, a S-M-C 105mm f/2.8, and a Spiratone Macro bellows with Spiratone flat field macro 75mm F3.5 lens which I'm planning on using to digitize my old ME Super negs. I'm badly lusting for a 85mm f/1.9 or 1.9 Tak, S-M-C or not.
I've got a long way to go before I can even come close to the excellent work I've seen here. Here's my first submission: Nature Reclaims
