Fortunately, we don't have to rely on Ricoh for solar power!

Reading the tea-leaves gave me the chance to back-fill my Q system
before that became too expensive and time-consuming.
Except for a DA* 11-18, which seems like it could be as good as the 09 would have been,
I'm all set for APS-C, so no personal worries there.

The 09 Telephoto Macro was also planned. As I said, "uneasy echoes"!

That question would have been totally unthinkable until recently,
but the fact that it was even broached during @subsea's PhotoPlus visit
did stir up some uneasy echoes of the retirement of the Q line:

Their existing mirrorless system already has a new lens ready (09 Telephoto Macro).
Then would it really take that much to do a Q-S2 with the Sony 20 MP 1/1.7" IMX 204 sensor?
There could even be some cross-fertilizing of development from Ricoh's automotive camera efforts.

For longer hand-held exposures with my mirrorless cameras (Q's, K-01),
I rest my elbow against the side of my rib cage.
This gives a stable hold while viewing the rear screen
(and the balanced leaf shutters in the Q's also play their part).
BTW, who'da thunk the K3ii would be discontinued on the Ricoh site before the Q-S1?
