Beautiful shot Andep. I recently purchased the Sigma 10-20 and have only taken it out a couple of times and am still trying to master it. If I ever get a shot as beautiful as yours (or Oldbayrunner's right above your post), I might get up enough nerve to post it. Thanks for posting this. I spent days looking at every page of this entire thread and was inspired by all the photographic talent. Thanks to everyone for keeping the fire stoked under my photographic enthusiasm.

nanhi--thanks for taking the time to be so helpful. I should tell you that part of my inspiration to buy this lens was all the beautiful photos you posted in this thread. I hope one day to have mastered this lens as well as you have.

And thanks again James. I am assuming some of those beautiful wide angle shots of Alaska were taken with the Sigma.

Thank you both for your kindness......

James,
Thanks for your response. I know nothing about zoom lenses. I did, however, look at the one other zoom I own, a Pentax F 35-70 (f3.5-4.5) and noticed that the infinity symbol is red, and just beyond that are two other red marks--one marked 35, and the other marked 70. I assume infinity is at different spots depending on the zoom level. And your description of my infinity marks is clearer than mine--I have the L shaped mark near the xfinity mark. The sun is supposed to make a return to my part of the world today and I will play with the thing a bit. Thanks again.......

A quick question. I have been a member of this forum for a bit over 4 years--I read a lot--talk very little. But I found a Sigma 10-20 (f4 - 5.6) for a very reasonable price recently. I have read every page of this thread and enjoyed it immensely (not to mention the fabulous pictures). In fact, this thread (and the friendly people who inhabit it) helped me decide to buy this lens. So here is my question. I primarily use manual focus lenses anyway and have a small collection of K and M prime lenses. And it makes sense to me that using this lens in manual mode is the best bet. But this Sigma has a marking on the barrel that I have never seen before. There is a mark for infinity, and another mark for infinity. I thought infinity was infinity. And the lens will continue to focus from the first infinity mark (which is a white line) to the infinity symbol. I apologize in advance if this is an immensely stupid question, but any insight would be appreciated.
