No sense to compare 11 mm with 12 mm and 18 mm with 24 mm focal length. It's some kind of trick.:)
1 mm is serious difference for ultra-wide angle lenses.
I hope we will see direct comparison in review here (at PF) at 12-18 mm range.It will be honest.
I think the difference will be very low, especially, at centre.

No bashing at all
I judge by Russian Pentax club. Not a lot users and many users changed FA35 to FA31 or Sigma 30/1.4. Or even to manual lenses.
As for me, 6 apetrure blades confused me many years ago...FA35/2 is not bad lense...It's sharp. But rather ordinary.

I don't think that FA35/2 was popular lens for Pentaxians...I doubt that HD version will be more popular...

FA35/2 is cheaper than HD FA35/2.0 in USA....Pay attention.
$289.95 vs $399.95
But it's rather expensive in Europe...It's hard to understand price policy...

My copy was good....But triangular bokeh is no good...I'd like to see better sharpness at 2.8 and better resolution at f4-5.6 in the edges..
Pay attention that F28 is different lens. Not the same as FA28.
I tried FA28 and F28 before purchase.
FA28 iwas not better. 6 apertures blades and softer than F28.
