Very nice Gary. I still appreciate your help with the Eckla Mount.
I rarely visit the Pentax forum but decided to take a peak today. Your work is always top notch.

Good to know - I am holding off for the 600 5.6 - maybe for Christmas ---------- Post added 09-30-18 at 05:08 PM ----------
Nice shooting - I have not had a chance to try my Eckla - a combination of bad weather and my wife taking a bad fall.

Thanks Chip
I have a friend with waterfront property on the Magothy River near Annapolis Maryland. His property is elevated and he had the stand built. Part of having property on the water is the great views and part is the expense. He has a sea wall eroding and the cost to have large rocks piled up this winter will be $55,000 to $65,000.
Here's a shot of the Momma Osprey checking me out. I sat back and used a radio shutter once I set up but I definitely was spotted. The nest is deceptively deep, there are two large chicks bunkered down.

Will do
We stay at a place East of Naples on 41, Port of the Islands. Rates are reasonable, especially compared to Naples and Marco, the restaurant is good and they have nightly entertainment.

Anhinga Trail is also one of my favorite spots. We go to the Everglades for two weeks every winter. We just got back a week ago, I thought IRMA really seems to have impacted the wildlife in the area - seemed down from previous years. Corkscrew was really hit with significant damage and what seems like reduced wildlife. I think it may take more time for wildlife to recover.

Big Cyprus Bend Boardwalk Irma caused a lot of damage in the Everglades. One spot, Big Cyprus Bend Boardwalk had a nesting pair of eagles last year. They came back and built a new nest on top of a dead tree.
My first outing there was with a zoom lens on a monopod secured to a pouch on my belt. I was able to get the first two shots at 600mm with the monopod.
We need more lens to get closer so I added the 1.4 TC and came back another day. The next three shots are at 840mm on a tripod. One bird was in the nest calling for its mate which arrived. The bird in the nest went to the top of the dead tree, the returning bird circled the nest.
For the next three shots I had to back off to about 400mm to get the nest and both birds. The last shot of the top bird was at 600mm.
I think it was pretty amazing to see the eagles back and occupying a new nest post-IRMA.

Anhinga Trail There was less wildlife at the Anhinga Trail during our visit there a week ago versus last year. However the Cormorants were still there in numbers. To me these birds seem fearless and bask in the sun and admiration of viewers. This is an uncropped image.

17 Degrees at Bombay Hook. Not much there, what is there is not moving. Three Canadians sitting far out on the almost completely frozen salt water marsh.

If you are still near Sanibel you might want to try a trip to Corkscrew and the Naples Botanical Garden. I was there last year in Jan/Feb and am headed back for a couple of weeks again. Corkscrew has a nice boardwalk - bring a better beamer if you have it with you. Naples Botanical Garden had Roseate Sponbills that were on the water. I do not know how much hurricane Irma damaged these places but they are good photo outings.

It was a very grey over cast day at Bombay Hook this morning. But I went out to use some new gear anyway.
Found a Juvy in the trees and a hungry Grey Heron on a cool overcast grey morning
