One of the more annoying ones was The 300 a few years ago. The whole movie looked like a software created video game. Not long after that movie, there were Lightroom presets popping up all over to get that "dramatic effect" as they were calling it. I don't think it looks very pleasing much of the time. It looks like the result you end up with after trying to correct for some bad exposure and that may well be the reason we see a lot of it. Fix it in the computer instead of re-shooting is a lot cheaper and you can extend the look to the whole movie and call it art.
