Jay: the imm. Cooper's shot is one of the best I have ever seen of this species. They are VERY difficult birds to get close to. Excellent job.
The kinglet is very well done, too. One of the most flighty little birds on earth!
I don't have a 1.7 to go with my FA*300, (just the Tamron 1.4) but I can see that TC will go right to the top of my wish list.:D
I presume the LGH was manually focussed? Looks like it would have been impossible for an auto shot- lots of fore and back competition. A tough shot but you managed it well.
The drake bufflehead? The jury's still out on that one. ;) I think the lighting (and possibly the distance involved) made it nearly impossible to capture just how beautiful these are. I'll be trying for some shots of these in the Spring when they are passing through on their way North. Very few in this area in the fall/winter...
