Just fyi. The above data for K-1 I works beautifully for all firmware versions. New firmware revisions did not break the ability to enter debug mode.

Some people have downloaded the lens rom settings from that lens. Maybe you take a look at those files.

Go ask whoever claims it is not working, if they also tried the above in camera edit.
I can confirm that the SD card dumping entries for lens roms do not work on K-3 or K-1.

Your statement is only partially correct.
Most users only seem to remember that the lens ROM change can be done by saving a file to SD card, changing it on the PC and loading it into the camera again.
But that is only half the truth.
As you can see even in the K-1 there is an option "LENS ROM EDIT R/W" directly in the camera (see post #7 here How to deactivate SDM and allow for screw drive autofocus with DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 - PentaxForums.com).
This allows directly changing the bytes. I have not actually executed it personally, but I can say that clicking it does show the underlying edit interface (asking about address and data and if you want to read or write) on the K-1, so I do assume this still works there. |

Would it be possible to update the required hex bytes for the most current K-1 firmware? :)

Can you tell me, how to find out the post-fix/extension like ".562" myself?
I found the description using frmdecrypt.exe, but that doesnt seem to work on the K-1 files as it exits with an error.

Many thanks and kudos to you, bootcoder. :)
Now it works. The two hex options you described actually lead the the very same result.
Using K-1 FW v1.20
We get 9 pages of development menu, which can be scrolled through via the backside e-dial.
And if you activate the debug mode there you get to one page of "Test Mode" as extra tab right before the custom settings (but I did not check if another "test mode" tab would appear with the other hex codes. |

Sadly this does not work and the screen stays black.

I assume so, since the firmware decryption program fails on the K-1's firmware.
Yes, I have a K-1, but have no skills whatsoever in disassembly.

Thank you very much for your effort, bootcoder. :)
Now the natural open question is: What should be the combination for a K-1 with the new v1.2 firmware?
00077970.??? and DEVELOP.MOD
And could you please post how to find this out again?
I was posted somewhere along time ago, but I can not find it anymore. I remember that you can somehow read it in the firmware file and it changes with every new firmware revision.

So you collect the work of others but
a) will not share the compiled list immediately in this very forum in a simple post and
b) want to use pdf format which is prone to virus abuse even though we are talking about a very simple text only content which could be shared in form of a post here without any problems? Post can be edited multiple times.
There is no reason why you could not post the compilation now and here and update it any time new content arrives.
