That's insane. The weather all over has been acting strangely. Although our region only had an almost-flood, many other people have had it much worse. I have had the fortune of not being able to take pictures of THAT myself *shudders*.

I found that using a Natural preset, with Contrast +1, Saturation +1 and Fine sharpness, along with a +0.7 EV boost, works extremely well for most situations. The software is rather obscure but you may have heard of it, it's called Pentax K-5 II. :P

The problem with these shots is that you can't really make the image 'pop' without completely blowing the snow. Try looking at some images where there isn't an abundance of white or black ;).
