Thanks Kerry!

Planning to go back under some different lighting conditions. So many possibilities in a site like this one...

Shot this past weekend at a local 1840's church. Lighting was pretty harsh, but an interesting day none the less. Pentax KX, M28 f2.8, on HP5+, developed in Xtol for 12 minutes, scanned on my new to me Epson 3200.

Having been weened on D76, I wasn't sure how I would like the Xtol, but the tones seem pretty good to me.

OMG does that bring back memories! I had a '74 Scout II with the 345 in it...4 speed with granny gear of course. That thing would climb a tree if you could keep traction! The only thing you couldn't do with those was keep a body on them... It was my daily driver, but a great off road vehicle, and used weekly to push-truck at the local dirt tracks.

Thanks Tuco, yep, he's an orange tabby. He has the run of the antique shop, and I hear he is very efficient at his job!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. My missus is the cat person in our family, I prefer a canine companion. We've had several disappear over the years that were basically outdoor cats. It's still never easy when you realize that they're gone though...

Having thoroughly enjoyed the quality of work in this thread, I'm a bit hesitant to post some of my own, but here goes nothing!

These photos were both taken in a very small sleepy town in Central PA. ME Super, M28 F2.8, HP5+ developed in D76 1+1, printed on Ilford MGIV glossy RC, and processed in home-brewed D72.

Main Street Sentries:

King of his canoe:

The "king's" photo was shot in available light, wide open at 1/60....could have been a tad sharper.

You did very well, technically and esthetically speaking! The photo gives me a "phoenix rising" kind of vibe, which I enjoy in these days of doom and gloom.

Love to see some more shots of the area, I really enjoy photographs of historical sites. We have a 200 year old grist mill close by, with its own covered bridge. I've been down there a couple of times, and plan on going back for a more in depth study. Apparently the mill was originally built 300 years ago as a log structure, and rebuilt 100 years later into the stone configuration that it is today. When I spoke with the current owners, they told me stories of native american attacks back in the day, and having to hide the wheels under water behind the dam. The original wheels (imported from France) are still under water, and they are planning to raise them in the future. I definitely want to be there to document the event for them!

Sorry for the miss-identification....reminds me of a heavy braided bowline, encrusted by its time in the water. Any idea what it may have been used for?

Excellent shot tuco! I particularly enjoy the texture you captured on the rope in the foreground!

Cheers!
