As I wrote in responses to another post of yours elsewhere, you need a K-Q adaptor.
Your Q-S1 will not be able to control the aperture of the 16-50 PLM, so the Pentax adaptor, with its own aperture mechanism built in, is probably the one you need.

I'm exceedingly jealous, but it's not taken by a DA* lens, or of a DA* lens, so it doesn't qualify for this thread.
Please post it somewhere else though!

Where does DFA* sit in this club? Can I post images from my DFA*70-200 here, or should I start a new club??

Lovely shot, but not strictly a member of the DA* club ;)

For those who say the DA*16-50 lacks sharpness, and has too much chromatic aberration and poor flare resistance.... Rural afternoon |

I have been using the HD DA 1.4x rear converter every day this month, mostly paired with my DA* lenses.
This is a multi-level stitch (7 layers in portrait format!) with the "DA*77" on the K-3 Garden pano 2
And here's one with the "DA*420" on the Q. Uncropped and hand held.... Blue moon |

I discovered this view a couple of weeks ago, and intend to come back for a sunset session sometime. This will have to do for now.

Thanks Matt.
No addition to the flash - just the built in diffuser. The raw files needed a bit of pushing in post, but I would much rather do that than try to rescue blown highlights.

I have been concentrating on the Single In challenges for nearly two years, but my daughter's 21st birthday gave me a chance to use the DA*16-50 for one of its niche applications. I don't find the AF particularly slow. Sure, it's not quite as fast as my Sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM, but now I know what I'm doing it's quick enough for the low light live music shoots I do, and the IQ is sublime.
If the SDM ever goes out I will hack it to screw drive and just keep using it. Doesn't cost anything.
You can have your cake and eat it too.

Absolutely. The DA*50-135 is easily the the best zoom I have ever used. Better than all but the best primes.

I concur 100%. It was too big, too slow and it had no more reach than my Sigma 70-200. I could not justify keeping it despite the WR. I got the DA*50-135 after I sold it and have not regretted it a moment.

The DA*55 is well known to produce funky bokeh in some situations. High contrast backgrounds with wide open aperture is one of them, but upload compression could well be contributing here.

It was. It reached 12" across at its peak. Here's proof: also taken with the DA*50-135 to keep it on topic. About a foot wide! |

A bit of a cheat: this is a stich of 15 hand-held shots. Garden pano
And another stitch, 27 shot this time, with a different goal in mind. Bird bath 2 |
