Nearly a year since I last posted to the club. My DA Limiteds did urban duty in Buenos Aires before I left for Ushuaia to sail to Antarctica. |

I've been away from this thread for a while, but still love my my DA Limiteds.
I played father of the bride last Sunday, so photography was not my top priority. I did sneak a couple with my newly re-acquired DA70 before the walk down the aisle though. Hair and makeup 1 Shall we take a walk? |

Just buy the Op/Tech caps you cheapskate! The security of the o-ring is worth it.

The cost is not high when you consider the convenience they afford. The O ring is more valuable for security than weather resistance - the lens will basically never fall off the cap until you want it to.

I have been using the SMC DA21 every day in October. The experience has cemented it as my go-to landscape lens. |

Good plan. At the wide end, my now returned DA20-40 was nowhere near as good as my DA21. Plus you get starbursts!

I finally acquired the last of the DA limiteds - the HD DA 35mm limited macro. I will always love the (SMC) 15 and 21, and I sold off the 40 and 70 in favour of their FA cousins, but this new lens is in danger of becoming my all-time favourite. It allows you to really go and rub noses with your subject and the sharpness and bokeh are amazing.

The 14 point stars from the DA15 and DA21 are the best; you wont get that from the FA31's 9 bladed aperture.
As for your DA21 focussing past infinity: who cares? If it focussing accurately, and giving pleasing images, all is well.

I took the scenic route home from work this afternoon. The DA21 came along for the ride. Kersbrook countryside |

That young lady is my exceptionally intelligent and frighteningly talented 17 year old daughter. I'm pretty sure something like "My father is taking my photograph again, I refuse to dignify it with a smile" is going through her noggin.
I love the last shot in your series, by the way. Personally, I think I prefer the 21 to the 15.

I'm using the DA21 as my Single In July Challenge lens. It is a pretty versatile lens.
