Yeah, flower composition doesn't have to be 'subtle' - head on is good ;)
The telephoto produces a nice shallow DoF and good bokeh blur

Oh yeah? I thought it was more wide angle, because the photos dont seem to have as much compression as with the DFA 100mm. That Tamron is a pretty great lens,but it really does come down to the photographer!

Beautiful shots! And we have those kind of flowers here as well, I took a photo of a bunch recently, but with the Industar 50-2, so they are not sharp closeups, more like a wallpaper
