That is a wonderful portrait of a rock.
On a serious note, I think its generally understood that 85mm-135mm (on FF) is portrait focal lengths, where lenses are balanced for pleasing skin tones and nice OoF blur. And it is also generally understood that portraits can be done with other lenses, even 8mm fisheyes; despite that definitely not being the norm. And it is also understood that a classic 85mm f1.4 lens can be used for.. well, anything you want to use it for. I take plenty landscapes with my DFA 100mm macro. I'm just trying to say that the arguments here are not actually going against each other

I think now we will see the power of the name. "Tamron 85mm f1.8? Eh maybe if it costs under $400.. Zeiss 85mm f1.8? OMG $1200 is such a good deal!!"

But 35mm is really well covered. FA 35mm f2, DA 35mm f2.4 (should be ok on FF), Sigma 35mm Art (optically amazing lens by any account).. then there is the Samyang 35mm (also great quality), and Mitakon 35mm. FA 31mm is special because it is a little different FoV and it has this cult status. Would be a waste to throw it away. Few lenses become so legendary, from any brand. Since Pentax in general has problems with being recognized, it is important to build on things like that.

Yeah, I think it is more deals, like the 15-30mm f2.8 produced as Tamron, but also as Pentax for the Pentax mount. So I doubt we will see many more Tamron lenses for Pentax than we do now, just some more Pentax lenses that were produced "in cooperation" with Tamron.
But! It is an interesting question about those Tamron primes. For some reason, I doubt those will be rebadged into Pentax outfits. We'll see.
