I also have a Sigma SD1 Merrill and a Pentax K-5 lls; time to compare, but briefly...
The Sigma does considerably better with items such as portraits, weddings, and also generally better in non-(highly??)ediled pics where the k5lls might "need to be edited". But there's a limit. I'd only rate the Sigma better up to an iso of about 400, and not much else besides that.
On a side note - there may very well be a race betwen both Sigma and Pentax to see exactly who comes out with the first full frame. It will most likely be Sigma as the winnder, but... Sigma has quietly stated they simply cannot do it for less than 2,600. Could Pentax possibly be able to do it for less to match contenders such as Nikon?

Interesting. But I was almost hoping that the pic could be zoomed out a bit and also show the fan and protective manifold.

I've had a quite fully operational darkroom since the early 80's, but... I'll admit to actually using other labs, even places such as the former Ritz Camera - and then taking a gamble with them actually processing even comething as color print film.

I'm suprised at how fast computers (especially laptops) lose the ability to have any repair parts available. I've seen most every computer company (Dell/Alienware, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Maingear, many, many other) not have available parts for their units within one year of production. Also for Applace/Mac people - if you don't have a warranty - it simply isn't worth repair.

By the book... I've always wondered how that work with a formerly owned (or used) computer? Whether it's Apple/Mac, Windows, or even Linux, that... Basically over the last 10++ years that the TOS (end user agreement) has remained much the same with very little modification. But the contract (as they say) basically states that the operating system is for that computer only - but it gets better... Technically only for that user and/or their immediate family.
So if one purchass any used computer... Do you have to reinstall an operating sytem?

I'm not sure if I'm reading this one correctly. Would it be the internal mechanical aperature, or (most likely) the aperture ring?

I'm "trying to hold off" on purchasing yet another 540 - plus the two hunder dollar external battery pack, to also see if a new option will be released. But also strongly weighing in on the possible need for all of the GN that the flagship Metz is capable of - besides the 1k price

Well it would depend on how one would be using the case. It looks to be an interesting project (and I'd even do it myself), but with a bit of caution.
It's due to the construction is not exactly up to the use - especially with delicate electronic equipment ans even lens'. My concerns... The fastener to hold the case shut; sometimes they may open a bit unexpededly. The same for the "connections" on the back of the case. So if you do also use it for carrying; make sure to carry it from underneath.
As for the conversion process; simply purchase a bunch of foam; preferably in the "pluck" version of cubes. Soon you'll almost have a Zero case.
