Selfie of me and Mrs. gaweidert taken at a Warbirds airshow using the Rokinon 20mm f1.8. I am really happy to have this lens. And with it's "flippy" screen able to hold the camera over my head while taking the photo.

Well here is one from a Polar (Samyang) 18-28mm zoom lens I got some 24 or so years ago while on a trip to South Korea. It cost all of $120 new at the duty free shop at Kimpo airport. I pulled it out to try on my K1. Ceiling of our sun room.

Thanks for checking that out. New theory. Since this lens is made in several mounts it may be related to that. My ancient and venerable Tamron and Vivitar lenses do the same thing. Other than that I am out of ideas.

I would really like a nice set of these lenses. But, as I stated on another post I just destroyed my LBA budget on the Pentax 150-450 lens. My dreams are of 14, 24, 35, 85, 100 and 135 mm Samyang/Rokinon lenses and Pentax FF cameras.

Now you got me pondering. Brain is stumbling after a hard day at work. This getting old stuff is not all it is cracked up to be. I always thought you had to go past the barrel markings to get proper IR focus. IR would definitely focus past the point where visible light focuses. I do see the focus past infinity on some of my old screw mount lenses. Both Tamron and Vivitar.

In the olden days, a lot of manual focus lenses focused past infinity. You needed that adjustment if you were using infrared film. The longer wavelength of infrared radiation changes the focal point of the lens. I see a lot of people mentioning this, but for old timers like me it is fairly normal.
