Given the Panasonic/Sigma/Leica agreement to build an FF Mirrorless system around the L-mount, one option would be for Pentax to join-in. It would allow Pentax to highlight their 'photographer orientated' interface in the body and they could concentrate on Pentax-esque optics (with a larger market) without having to design a whole new bunch of 'me too' standard lenses. Both Pentax (FA43) & Ricoh (GR28) have made lenses for Leica screw bodies (and they've been popular with the Leica shooters).
