Not quite pictures, but I filmed myself going to work using a GoPro Hero. :) I'd be glad if you could suggest better mounting positions for the camera. Vidyaz Weblog Of The Everyday |

I present to you, my new baby:
For those with pronounced technical inclinations, nothing on this bike is stock, except for the frame and rear derailleur.

Good grief, that is a minger!
Whatever works for him should keep anyone happy. :)
It's also far less likely to get stolen.

You're lucky I know a bit of Cyrillic. :) Otherwise your message might have gone unread.

Nah, that's alright. It only hurt for like two days. :)
Here's some talentless pictures to keep the theme going:

Something of that sort. I can't say the family jewels did too well either.

That's a nifty idea, Richard.
I got very bruised once; while riding a bike. Didn't carry enough speed when riding up a steep incline (~45 degrees), and the bike lost traction.
Don't think I'm allowed to post any photos of where it hurt..

Ouch!
Although, to be fair, my sister managed to get an even bigger bruise while riding on perfectly flat tarmac. :)

nanok, please look into your hotlinking methods. Whenever I access this thread page, it asks me for a username and password that leads to an account you own.
No picture on sight either.

That's what one of the Trek techies told me. He's owned several dozen bikes over the years; from the cheapest possible, to some multi-thousand-euro rigs.
Biking is slowly taking off here in Romania, and I couldn't be happier about it. I'm sorry to hear you've been run over, especially since it was done on purpose. It hasn't happened to me, and I really hope it won't.
I'm training to hit the trail and participate in the 50 Km XC competition next year.

I upgraded the brake just because of the intermittent squealing you're experiencing. The noise comes from a faulty bushing from the brake assembly, and there's nothing you can do about it. Changing the pads might help a little at first, but it's a design flaw. The new BB-5 can plant your face in concrete if you're not careful. Excellent brakes.
Why are you surprised about Treks being sold in wherever "wonder land" is? They're very good bikes, and many people can afford them. I've got a Hungarian-made bicycle and apart from the brake and fork (which, I admit, was my fault for ruining it), everything works very well.
I've seen many excellent bicycles here. Cannondale, Commençal, Gary Fisher, Kona etc.

Nanok, I have (had) the same brake as you do, on the front.
If anyone else wants to read a slightly tongue-in-cheek report about an upgrade my bike went through today, please visit BIKE++ While there, feel free to check out everything else. :) Don't forget to comment! |

One of my good friend photographers bought herself a second hand Koga-Miyata from the US. It certainly looks the part, and she probably paid less than half what you'd have to shell out over here in Europe.
I didn't see the appeal of road bikes at first, but when I saw how fast she could ride that thing, I'm thinking of getting one.

And a very boring image of a workhorse - a Bulgarian-made bicycle I had borrowed from a girl friend. It's seen more mountains than most of you have.

Great idea for a thread! I'll most likely be getting my very own bike (2nd one) this month, to help me go around the city faster.
In the meantime, this is what I've been up to: |
