Interesting... do we have an idea what the FL will be and if they intend to make them in P-K mounts?

Last weekend, I went to take some pictures of the milky way, but soon after I arrived, the clouds appeared...
I tried to spend some time trying to shoot the numerous fireflies that were lightning around... not easy... I did a 4 minutes exposure... at F10 9because I could not have any focus confirmation because it was too dark, so I closed to get the greatest DoF, and I used ISO6400
but... not easy to catch what I was seeing... especially with a 14mm UWA on FF (Bower 14mm F2.8)
When zooming on the image in Lr, we can see numerous green spots...
I dont know what I can do to improve the catch of fireflies, maybe longer focal length would help...
Anyways, that gives you an idea...

This shot was taken from a single frame, during my first MW session on June 5th... Taken a bit earlier than my pano merge, we can see more part of the MW before it was hidden by the trees later that night... we can see more details in the MW. Thanks,
like I said, there are many precedents in that pic, but ok, let's say it's my 2nd attempt at the MW...
that one was the 1st attempt, with another lens (slow 15mm f/4 Ltd and K-3II) where there is lot's of light pollution near big cities...
I have to say that I did lot's of readings on the techniques (I did my homeworks after being disappointed by my 1st attempts.. and I think the Samyang 24mm f1.4 delivers much mor in that field... all the reading I did confirms this statement)
Adding to that the performance of the K-1... I think it is a winner combo for astrophotography!

Thanks...
I used 25 seconds per shot and used the Panorama Merge feature of Lr6 to stitch all the images... (after applying the correct lens profile to every single image)

Thanks!
to be more precise (I'll try to better explain): I took the 26 shots with the camera tilted in portrait side on the tripod (the camera body was on it's left side on the tripod). Doing that way, I am getting more hight on each photo, but less coverage on each side, so that is why it needs more photos (here 13) to cover the scenery from right to left. I took one row of 13 photo to cover the bottom par, and another set of 13 photo to cover the upper part of the sky. For each photo, i moved the head about 10 degrees at the time (I used the scale on the tripod head to be more precise between each shot).
The only thing I should have done better, is that I should have taken the 13 above shots a bit higher to get a bigger part of the sky above the milky way...
hope that explains better!

Well, not really the 1st of the 1st, I have tried in another area close to my city, and with different body (K-3II) and other slower lenses.
But this is the 1st time I have an opportunity in a remote area (I went fishing this weekend, and got only one night where the sky was clear enough), and the 1st time I am using my newly acquired K-1 and Samyang 24mm f1.4, and it's the 1st time I am doing pano stitching with star fields... this is a stitch of 26 images (2 x13) in portrait orientation.
please let me know if I made too much PP, especially if the colors are not OK, since I am color blind, and cannot see all the nuances.
(Note: this is better viewed in Flickr in full screen mode or downloaded to your PC)
Hope you enjoy it... but I am very pleased with the results!
