Nice images !

Are you nostalgic! Or you are removing the dust on some less used gear ? (just kidding) ;)
Anyways, this is just another good example that not only the newest gear make good photos !
Well done !
:)

Robins love the Staghorn Sumac trees [Rhus typhina] at this time of the year.
Photo taken from inside the house, thru a double window... at about 25-30 feet, cropped and added some circular filter to lighten the disturbing background... Not bad isn't?

Hi to all, Long time I haven't used my 300mm
This afternoon, I sat on a chair with a couple of beers, waiting for the Humms to visit the flowers...
Quite relaxing moments in between the shots... but when it comes, one needs to be alrt! They are not evident to follow!

Among others, here's one, that is quite heavily cropped, but I found the scene quite interesting.

Colibri à gorge rubis / Ruby-Throated Hummingbird [Archilochus colubris] ♀

Pentax K-1 + SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm f4 ED [IF] SDM
1/500s, ƒ/5.6, ISO 640 @ 300mm

Taken from behind, but with always the eye in focus thru the wing in movement...

I just did a shot like that with the K-3II + DA*300 when people were leaving the Rogers Cup Tennis stadium...
Man, this picture is incredibly sharp, even at 1/200, f5.6, ISO6400! I can't believe my eyes!
(no PP at all on this one, direct from the camera!)

When I enlarge a bit, look at the details! (next are screenshots from Lr on my laptop)

And this is the 1:1 image on screen, this one still without PP,

and the 2nd one, with some PP (highlights, shadows, sharpness and NR applied slightly)

Conclusion: I should use that lens more often

I prefer the 2nd one too, the 1st one looks like having too much saturation and/or clarity and/or vibrance...

Some fireworks for our "Fête Nationale du Québec" a couple weeks ago, taken with the K-3II + DA*50-135
Actually, this is my GF that took those shot, after I set up the camera on a tripod in front of her, and me using the K-1 + DFA 24-70 at the same time. I told here to hold the remote trigger for about 5-6 seconds when she would see the firework raise in the sky.
If you want to compare the results of both combos, just click on the image, there are more on Flickr.

One of my first try at a starry nightscape with the DA16-50

Stack (HDR Merge in Lr6) of 5 photos at different shutter speed, at f5.6, iso 3200, 18mm

Some light painting at the foreground (left tree)

Wondering what the straight line is... probably a satellite?

Panning experimentation with the DA*300 on a rainy day...
I was a bit too close I guess... the effet would have been better if I'd get more surroundings..

ok, thanks for the info, i was asking because I tried to photograph the moonrise few days ago and even with bracketting 5 steps, I could not get the horizon clear enough while keeping the moon correctly exposed with enough shutter speed. Probably that your moon rised much earlier after sunset than mine, allowing more light for the rest of the environment...

cool for your prints... I am sure it would sell!

Went to the beach in Massachussetts last weekend, and caught this nice Grasshopper on the sand, taken with the Telephoto DA*300mm (so xposted with the 300mm + club)
It has a very good camouflage pattern for sandy beaches!

I think This is the right species, so if I made a mistake, let me know...
