This past weekend, when out on a shoot, I ran into a situation where I needed something wider than 28mm. This situation came up once before, when shooting some photos of the Snake River Canyon. The only extreme wide angle lens I had at the time was the Pentax 18-55mm DA kit lens. My results were dismal, as all the photos were unacceptably soft. I've not used that particular lens again. Anyway, my situation this past weekend.... I needed a lens wider than the 28mm I had with me, but was left with no alternative. My question: For a man on a budget, what lens wider than the 28mm would you recommend?
