I get the impression from the 'old thread warning' that resurrecting threads that have been dead for >1 year is frowned upon, but I've been reading through the M645 postings and I'm wondering how it has worked out and, in particular, if anyone can offer an opinion on IQ of the M645 105-210 f4.5 zoom and the 35mm f3.5 N. I have a lot of time on my hands right now as I'm lying on my back with my laptop recovering from spinal decompression surgery, so I am spending a lot of time looking through e-bay ads and I am now the proud owner of a 50mm f4 shift lens but as yet I have no body to attach it to! Currently in transit from various vendors are a 1000S, WLF, PD prism, 80mm f2.8 and left-hand grip. I was thinking that a 35mm f3.5 N and a 210mm f4 N would complete a nice kit for architecture and landscapes, but M645 kit has been going up in price in the UK and also seems to be much more expensive here than in the USA. I have heard that the 35mm f3.5 N is very soft at the edges and that the 105-210mm zoom is as good as the primes if it's stopped down to f5.6 or f8. Can anyone confirm from personal experience? |
