You are both wrong as it's an *ist DS. I'm disappointed in both of you :p;)

I could not resist buying this beauty. It has less than 5000 pictures on the counter, but looks brand new. Visually the silver is exactly the same silver color as my Limiteds (Champagne-silver). What do you think? I think it's way cool! :)
I think the later silver bodies did not have the same silver color? Anyone knows?
To be also ontopic it was shot with my K-7 and FA77. |

The pictures were indeed cropped, though not much. The FA31 comes very close (for a wide angle lens)!

Indeed; on the first versions the "Pentax" name was applied on, not stamped. Also, on the first versions the silver finish of the lens cap was much finer (more silvery too) and the inner lining black.

There are worse things in life, Jussi!
I love your couple shot, by the way! Street photography is still very difficult for me, but shots like this one make me look forward to trying it myself.

LOL!
But there's indeed a difference in the silver finish of the front cap of the FA43 (which has a serial number in the 5000 range). It's more silvery, more shiny.
Here are my first results with the FA31 Limited. Not easy for me; I'm more used to primes in the >50mm range!

Received two packages containing the 43mm Limited (early version with brown pouch) and the 31mm Limited, both in chrome. Now I have the Limited trio complete
I got so excited that I took the picture showing them from the wrong side. At least it's visible that the lenses are all made in Japan :) |

Congratulations with your new acquisitions! I already had the silver MIJ FA77, and yesterday and the day before yesterday I also bought the silver MIJ FA43 and FA31's. I'm happy! :)
Nice shots BTW!
